Weird Animal Cross Breeds
74I have discovered something amazing on the Internet. Hybrid animals or weird animal cross breeds. It is truly interesting to see such creatures being bred with animals they would never have bred with. Here are a few of them.
Liger and Tigon
A Liger is a mixed breed from a male lion and a female tiger while Tigons are mixed breeds between a male tiger and a female lion. Ligers are the worlds biggest cat while a Tigon is a lot smaller than either of its parents. Male Ligers and Tigons are infertile while the females are fertile.
Grolar Bear
The Grolar Bear is a cross breed between a Polar Bear and a Grizzly Bear. This is thought to be an impossible cross breed since Polar Bears like ice and water and Grizzly Bears enjoy the land more. However, in Canada these two breeds can meet and mate from time to time to make a beautiful grayish colored Teddy.
The Grolar Bear is bigger than a Grizzly Bear but smaller than a Polar Bear. However, it does have characteristics of both species such as a long neck and a big head, smooth fur and big claws.
Beefalo
The Beefalo is a mix between a cow and a bison. This cross breed has been around since the 1800s. The Beefalo is fertile unlike most cross breeds. The meat has actually been eaten before and is said to be lower in cholesterol
Leopon
A Leopon is a mix between a male leopard and a female lion. The Leopon has the head of a lion with spots and the body of a leopard. Leopons were first seen in 1910 and have been bred in Japan and Germany.
Zonkey
A Zonkey is a mix between a zebra and a donkey. Pretty funny if I do say so myself. A zonkey looks like a dirty zebra or donkey with striped high heels on its feet. It is actually pretty cute for a cross bred animal.
Green Sea Slug
Now here's a weird one for you. A hybrid of an animal and a plant. The green sea slug is a big thief in the water world. It likes to steal photosynthesizing organelle and genes from algae. Algae is its primary food source.

Wow, weird stuff. The grolar bear is adorable.
I have to say, I feel sorry for the zonkey - couldn't they have given it a name that sounds less silly? Though "mobra" isn't much of an improvement.
