Copywriting is Not Easy!

So I have decided to get into copywriting. I thought it would be easy at first and thought I would have fun. I wanted to get into a new form of writing that would be interesting and fun and make more money. So I found the warrior forum and noticed their copywriting section. I read it and thought that it would be fun and earn me more money at the same time. I was wrong!

Copywriting is Not Easy!

Yeah, I thought it would be the same as writing what I have been writing for 5 years now except more creative. I was wrong. It was easy to get my first few clients. I have one client who my mentor gave to me and he even paid me in full upfront. Now I obviously have to do the work or I will have to give the money back and I obviously do not want to do that. I do not want to lose a good paying client and he paid me decent for what he wants. However, I sit here and stare at the screen when trying to work on the ad copy for his product and I feel stupid and dumbfounded. So yeah, it was easy to get clients. I even got one from Fiverr.com and then had to cancel the order, ask him to email me and so we could talk further because the deadline was approaching and I had no idea what I was doing. I even got a client from someone reading my blog where I offered my amateur services. That part was easy actually.

Here comes the hard part! Actually doing the work. I did a landing page for the client from Fiverr and he said it was decent although he would have to make some tweaks but he still wants to work with me. He wants me to help him get more customers for his airport shuttle business. I offered to help re write his website, do Facebook and Twitter updates for him and asked him what his budget was for all of this. It is pretty good pay if I say so myself. I am not afraid to do the Facebook and Twitter updates for him, however I am a little afraid to re write his website. I am good at SEO but I have never written for a website before so this is all new to me. I think I can do it though. No, I KNOW I can do it. I just have to put my mind to the work and let the words flow like I am doing now.

So I decided while I was sitting here staring at a blank page trying to do this copywriting work for the new client that I would write a Hub about it. I figured maybe it would help open up the creative juices a little. It actually kind of did help. Now I am going to go write about it my blog.

If there are any seasoned copywriters reading this, could I have some advice on how to move forward and to quit staring stupidly at a blank page when I have work to do?
